Where to find your Steam trade link

Your Steam Trade URL lets people send you trade offers without adding you as a friend. The link itself does not give access to your account or confirm a trade.

  1. Open Steam in a browser or the desktop client. Sign in to the account that should receive the items.
  2. Open your inventory. In the menu under your nickname, choose Inventory, then Trade Offers.
  3. Open “Who can send me Trade Offers?”. Find the Third-Party Sites section and the trade link field.
  4. Copy the entire link. Save it in the account settings or withdrawal section of the platform you want to use. Do not substitute your Steam profile address.

What to check before confirming a trade

  • What you receive and what you give. Review both sides of the offer and the item counts. If you expect only to receive a skin, check that none of your items have been added to the trade.
  • The specific skin. Match the weapon, finish name, exterior and any StatTrak or Souvenir labels. If the pattern or stickers matter, inspect the specific item.
  • The trading account. If the platform provides the sender’s or recipient’s profile, open the profile in the offer and compare the profile addresses. A matching nickname and avatar are not enough.

Check these details on the confirmation screen too, if Steam shows one. If anything differs from what you expected, do not confirm.

Steam Wallet funds cannot be included in a trade offer. A message promising to send them does not mean they are part of the trade.

What to do if a trade offer does not arrive

  1. Check the saved link. Compare it with the current Trade URL in the correct Steam account. If you created a new link, replace the old one on the platform.
  2. Open your incoming offers in Steam. Check the Trade Offers section even if you have no notification. If the offer has not been sent yet, check the request status on the platform.
  3. Check your inventory setting. If the platform needs a public inventory, open Edit Profile → Privacy Settings in your Steam profile and set the inventory to Public. A working trade link does not make your items visible by itself.

If Steam has no offer but the platform marks it as sent, contact the platform’s support with your request number. For DatDrop, see the skin withdrawal guide. Do not enter your password or Steam Guard codes on a page from an unexpected message.

The offer exists, but trading is unavailable or items are on hold

Open the offer and read Steam’s message for the reason and the restriction’s end date, if shown. Follow that message: a new Trade URL does not remove trading restrictions or speed up item transfers.

How to replace your Steam Trade URL

If you receive unwanted offers through your link, open “Who can send me Trade Offers?”. In the Third-Party Sites section, click the button to create a new URL below the Trade URL field. If Steam asks you to confirm the replacement, confirm it. Copy the new URL and save it in place of the old one in the settings of platforms you use.

The old link will no longer work for new offers. Replacing the URL does not change your password or secure an account someone else has already accessed. In that case, follow the account safety guide.
