eDPI = mouse DPI × CS2 sensitivity.

Where to find DPI and sensitivity
Mouse DPI: check the manufacturer's software or the profile stored on your mouse. Use the active DPI you play with, not the maximum printed on the box. If the mouse switches between levels, check which one is selected.
Sensitivity: use the mouse sensitivity in CS2 settings, not the zoom multiplier. Windows pointer speed is not a substitute for DPI.
What the result means
eDPI compares base sensitivity within CS2, not between different games. For example, 800 DPI × 1.25 and 400 DPI × 2.5 both give 1000 eDPI. A larger number means more sensitive controls, other things being equal.
When changing DPI, new sensitivity = previous eDPI ÷ new DPI. Worked example: 400 × 1.9 = 760; at 800 DPI, use 760 ÷ 800 = 0.95. Convert to another DPI.
A player’s value is an option to try, not a better setting just because a professional uses it.
How to try a new sensitivity
- Save your original DPI and sensitivity so you can restore them.
- For this trial, change only CS2 sensitivity and keep DPI fixed. Use one practice map and the same distance to the target.
- Track a moving target, move your crosshair from a nearby point onto it, and try a turn. Notice whether you overshoot and whether you have enough mousepad space.
- Repeat with your original value. If control feels uncomfortable, restore your original sensitivity.
